Music Departments

Musical development can start at very young ages. Our piano and violin departments will accept new students as young as 5 years old. The woodwinds and brass department will accept students as young as third grade.  Our teachers customize every lesson for each individual student.  We accent strengths and strengthen  weaknesses.

In addition to traditional note reading and playing, we incorporate all aspects of music, including ear training, rhythm, original songs for melodic recognition.  Participation in performance opportunities at recitals and our outdoor concerts are also encouraged.

Piano

With grand pianos in every studio, students learn from some of the most experienced teachers in New Jersey.  The faculty represent a diverse background of styles, experiences, and education. Students will achieve a high level of note reading and chord playing skills, using musical styles that appeal to them.  We have an extensive collection of "easy piano" selections for students to learn on, as well as a 25,000 song database to draw from.

School of Guitar/Bass

Students can learn guitar or bass using several different learning styles, including traditional notation, tablature, and ear training. Acoustic or electric studies are available, and smaller sized guitars are available for the younger students.  As students advance, they are given the opportunity to try out for our Rock Band classes.  Songwriting and music recording is also available for advancing students.

Rock Star University

Not only do the bands rehearse regularly every week, but they perform throughout the area, use social media to promote their band, have photo shoots, write and record songs, develop their own arrangements of current and classic songs, learn how to use modern musical equipment, setup and break down at shows, and even book their own shows.  Each band becomes its own entity, with members staying together, some for many years.

School of Voice

Rock, pop, jazz, classical, and broadway are just some of the styles that our vocal teachers specialize in.  With backgrounds in nearly every genre, our vocal department enhances their classes with ear training, note reading, as well as helping students learn to be able to accompany themselves on piano or guitar.  While vocal exercises are a must, live performances are also an important path to even greater success.

Percussion

With teachers who perform regularly throughout the tri-state music scene, students learn traditional note reading skills that will help them achieve success in school concert and marching bands, as well as real world drum skills for live performance, recording, and composition. Students practice in our studio with their teacher on two drum sets, as well as with music tracks.  As students advance, they are given opportunities to join our Rock Star University program.
